Permoseal acquires Gluepaste

Well known adhesive company Permoseal PTY Ltd recently expanded its offering through the purchase of South Africa’s oldest Adhesive manufacturer, Gluepaste Manufacturing.

Founded in 1949 and possibly best known for their household brand names Alcolin and Bostik, Permoseal has an excellent reputation as a leading manufacturer and supplier of a wide range of adhesives, sealants and DIY products for general and specialised applications in both the consumer and industrial markets. With much pride, they announced the acquisition and purchase of Gluepaste Manufacturing to their staff in September.

Established in 1928 by Jacob Carlin, Gluepaste manufactures a wide range of industrial adhesives for the packaging and woodworking industries that will greatly complement the range of quality adhesive solutions that Permoseal offers. Robin Jacobs (MD of Permoseal) feels confident that the synergies between these two organisations will bring real benefits to valued customers.

“This synergistic transaction assists us with our vision to become SA’s leading supplier of consumer and industrial adhesives and we look forward to demonstrating our commitment to the industry over the coming months.” Says Robin Jacobs, MD Permoseal Pty Ltd.

Integrating Gluepaste into Permoseal’s operations has been simplified through the acquisition of a well established site in Gauteng.  Philip Rayner, General Manager of Permoseal says “The new property has added a mega warehousing facility to our logistical set up and will enable us to  increase our footprint into Africa”.
